Assistant Professor of Educational Assessment
The post will be held by an academic with a sustained track record in developing cutting edge educational assessment in health professions education. The appointee would be expected to carry out core activities in learning and teaching; research and knowledge transfer; administration, management, and leadership. Candidates will be expected to deliver higher-level achievements in at least two of these areas, demonstrating national and international impact in educational assessment.
Be responsible for the overall performance of the Centre for Educational Assessment and the assessment strategy of the University and academic departments, including the development, leadership and quality management of all programmes of assessment and progression and to ensure alignment with the programmes of learning and support being implemented by the University.
Design and deliver faculty development experience covering assessment theory and practice, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, statistics and/or research methods and/or applied and theoretical psychometrics.
Course lead in health professions education academic programs
Research and Scholarship:
Promote the educational research and scholarship mission of the University by conducting and facilitating investigator-initiated educational research projects, programmes or academic collaborations or consultancy within University policies and guidelines.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
- Preferred MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent.
- Appropriate experience in managing and leading medical professional high stakes assessment systems.
- Appropriate postgraduate qualifications or Fellowships in medical education and/or assessment.
- Written and spoken English is essential, Arabic is preferred
