Research Facilities

Microbiology

Ongoing projects in the Microbiology lab focus on the molecular epidemiology of antibiotic resistance, characterization of microbial pathogenicity, microbiome analysis and testing of novel antimicrobial agents.

Physiology and Pharmacology

The lab offers the infrastructure and equipment to carry out the full spectrum of drug related studies, including mechanistic, dose-response, neurophysiological and electrophysiological experimentation.

Histology and Pathology

This advanced facility supports a complete workflow system for histopathology, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence studies. Tissue grossing to embedding and processing is supported by high end microtomes and cryotomes. Oncology and molecular pathology are major areas of research interest.

Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology

Established with high end RT PCR, digital PCR and nanopore sequencing technologies the facility houses research on the genetics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Familial Hypercholesterolemia and Diabetes. The cell culture labs can accommodate both primary and immortal cell line cultures and are equipped with live cell imaging equipment.
