Paddy Kilian is a South African qualified doctor with extensive experience in Emergency Medicine and Trauma. She has been in Dubai since 2008, based in the Accident and Emergency Department at Mediclinic City Hospital. Earlier in her career, she spent many hours in the air as a flight doctor practising aviation medicine which combined her passion for emergency medicine and anaesthesia. Paddy became involved in formal medical education in 2018 when she took the role of academic coordinator at the hospital and has since been actively involved with MBRU. She studied further obtaining a PGCert in Medical Education. In October 2020, her role changed to Director of Academic Affairs for Mediclinic Middle East and she became part-time faculty at MBRU.
On a more personal note, Paddy is a keen listener to smooth African jazz, reggae and ska. She enjoys travelling, bareboat sailing and experiencing different cultures and countries. She speaks English, Afrikaans and a little Zulu.
