
Ralf Krage
Contact FacultyRalf Krage is an associate professor of anesthesia and consultant anesthesiologist at MBRU, Dubai, UAE. He is also the director of the KHMSC simulation center in Dubai. From 2007 until 2019 he was a consultant anesthesiologist and residency program director at the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Between 2019 – 2021 he served as Head of the Department of Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Emergency Medicine in Neuburg, Germany.
His special interests focus on advancing medical education through simulation-based learning, Human Factor issues and airway management training. Since the early 2000’s he is promoting simulation-based learning, serving as director of two major simulation centers in Germany and the Netherlands.
He is the Past President of SESAM (Society for Simulation in Europe) after serving as president between 2013-2015 (EC member 2011-2017) and was vice-president of the DSSH 2011-2016 (Dutch society for Simulation in Healthcare). For the GNSH association (Global Network for Simulation in Healthcare) he served as a board member from 2015-2019.
He is the initiator of the scientific journal ‘Advances in Simulation’ and serves on the International Advisory Board. Ralf is an international partner and board member (2017-2020) of the EUSIM group since 2007 and served on numerous instructor courses (inter)nationally as faculty and course director. Also, he is an examiner for the European Diploma of Anesthesiology and Intensive care (EDAIC) of the European Anesthesia Society (ESAIC).
