The College of Medicine at MBRU is seeking applications for the position of Emirati Faculty Appointments in Clinical Medicine
Job Purpose:
The role holder will carry out academic functions within the College under the directives of the Dean to achieve the educational, clinical service, community service, scholarship, and research functions of the College in order to ensure students achieve graduation requirements. Also, the role will carry out other assignments as may be necessary for the College to achieve its functions and strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
Teaching
- Develops and prepares teaching and learning activities and courses, including their goals, learning objectives, content and assessment that aligns with the Educational Goals of the College.
- Conducts pedagogical and training sessions as assigned by the Dean.
- Participates in the assessment of students to ensure that academic goals have been achieved.
- Provides educational and mentoring support to students to facilitate their achievement of educational goals.
- Guides and supervises students in the acquisition of skills and conduct of scholarly activities.
- Provides on-site clinical supervision for the students, thus ensuring guidance and instilling confidence in application of theoretical principles while practising, as applicable.
- Provide clinical services within the medical facility as and when required, based on timelines agreed in line with the medical facility requirements, as applicable.
Scholarship
- Engages in research activities on themes that align with the research goals of the College and of relevance to the country.
- Attracts research grants to the College to facilitate the achievement of excellence in scholarship.
- Publishes quality research outcomes in high impact journals to enhance the international standing of the College.
- Participates in international conferences to disseminate results of research activities.
Professional Service
- Engages in high quality professional service and contribute to the advancement of the health status of the community.
University Service
- Actively supports and represents at various college committees as part of facilitating applicable academic operations.
Community Service
- Seeks and develops relationship with suitable external partners in order to raise the profile of the College and the University
- Provides opportunities for assisting professional colleagues to maintain and enhance their skills by offering Continuing Professional development in their specialty.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates must hold Certificate of Completion of Training, Board Certification or Equivalent.
It is also desirable for successful candidates to have:
- Academic experience either as a medical educator and /or a researcher at a recognized university (at least five years for Associate Professor position and at least 10 years for Full Professor position)
- Significant experience in undergraduate medical education includes the design, delivery and organization of good quality teaching and assessments.
- Proven independent research experience and track record in medical education.
