I am a high school graduate. Can I apply?

Yes. We offer a Traditional High School Entry pathway, which is a 4-year, 120-credit program designed for students coming directly from high school.

I already have a bachelor’s degree in another field, but I want to become a nurse. Is there a program for me?

Absolutely. We offer a Second-Degree Entry option for individuals who have a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing discipline. This is an accelerated pathway of 105 credits over six semesters. This is a perfect choice for adults who want to change their life career and for those who have a bachelor’s degree in health-related disciplines such as EMS, Radiology, Pharmacology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, etc.

I am a Registered Nurse (RN) with a diploma. Can I upgrade my degree to a BSN?

Yes. The RN-BSN Entry pathway is specifically designed for nurses who want to advance their skills and improve their professional career growth. This program consists of 60 credits and can be completed in four semesters.

What are the English language requirements?

What are the specific requirements for the RN-BSN pathway?

Applicants must have an attested associate degree/diploma in nursing, a valid nursing license to practice in their place of residence, and a minimum of two years of clinical experience, if applicable

How does the program prepare students for modern healthcare challenges?

The curriculum at HBMCoNM is specifically designed to be future-focused. We integrate key modern concepts like systems thinking, technology, and informatics to ensure you graduate as a versatile and adaptive healthcare professional.

How is technology integrated into the curriculum?

From your first year, you will take a dedicated course in Innovation in Health Science & Digital Health to understand how technology is transforming patient care. This focus is woven throughout the program, preparing you to use digital tools and health informatics effectively in a clinical setting.

What is “Systems Thinking” and how is it taught?

Systems thinking is the ability to see the “big picture” in healthcare. Instead of just focusing on individual patient tasks, you learn how entire health systems operate. We teach this through dedicated courses like Basic Health System Science and Advanced Health System Science, which cover how policy, finance, and organizational structure impact patient care.

How much hands-on experience will I get?

Extensive hands-on experience is a cornerstone of our program. The curriculum is packed with practical learning opportunities, including:

  • Lab Sessions: Courses like Health Assessment Lab, Pharmacology Lab, and Fundamentals of Nursing Care Lab provide you with a safe space to practice essential skills.
  • Simulation: Each clinical course will include a course-specific simulation lab to mimic real-life scenarios and optimize your clinical readiness.
  • Clinical Rotations: Starting in your second year, you will undertake numerous clinical placements in real healthcare settings, such as Adult Health Nursing, Pediatric Care, and Critical Care.
What are the clinical placements like?

Our clinical placements provide direct patient care experience under the supervision of experienced clinical instructors and preceptors. These are not just observation roles; you will be an active member of the healthcare team. Your final semester culminates in an intensive, immersive experience designed to transition you from the student role to the nurse role as smoothly as possible.

Where will I complete my clinical training?

You’ll gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of premier healthcare settings across various clinical facilities, exposing you to both public and private sector models of care. Our key clinical training locations include:

Dubai Health: As MBRU is the Academic Arm of Dubai Health (Dubai’s first integrated academic health system), our students have unparalleled access to its extensive network of hospitals, primary care centers, and specialized clinics. This gives you a unique opportunity to learn within the city’s leading public health infrastructure.

Mediclinic Middle: You will also have placements in top-tier private facilities like those operated by Mediclinic, a leading international healthcare services group.

Various Clinical Settings: Beyond major hospitals, your training will span diverse environments, including community health centers and specialized care facilities, ensuring you graduate as an adaptable and well-rounded nurse ready to work in any healthcare setting.
