At the Deanship of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at MBRU, we aim to provide reputable postgraduate training programs (residency and fellowship programs) to cater for the rising need and demands of our young doctors in the region.

The Deanship adheres to sound international benchmarks and is committed to creating a stimulating and innovative learning environment that prepares our trainees to become well-rounded health professionals. All our programs are accredited by the most renowned medical accreditor in the region and are built on CanMEDS/ACGME principles, emphasizing on competency-based training through a well-structured curriculum that reinforces learning through research activities, medical simulation and soft skill development. The training environment is supported by smart technology for program delivery, effective tracking of trainee progress, and impactful program assessments and reviews.

How can I apply to the Graduate Medical Education programs?

Applications to GME programs can only be submitted through our online application portal. Please check the relevant program webpage for the admission timeline, eligibility criteria, and required documents. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Is there an application fee and/or tuition fee?

The GME programs are free of charge except for the Endodontics Residency program and Dental Internship for Expats. The application fee of AED 650 for Residency & Fellowship and AED 230 for Internship is non-refundable and mandatory to consider an application complete.

How many specialties can I apply to?

Candidates can choose up to 3 specialties for the Residency program. As for the Fellowship program, candidates will only be able to choose two.

Which hospital will I be based at?

Our training programs are running across Dubai Health facilities, which include Rashid Hospital, Dubai Hospital, Latifa Hospital, Hatta Hospital, Primary Healthcare Centers, Specialized Centers, Medical Fitness Centers, Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital and Dubai Dental Hospital.
