We are an interdisciplinary team with expertise in education, psychology, research methods, educational technology, learning design, artificial intelligence and quantitative inquiry. This breadth allows us to connect global evidence with local needs and to innovate in educator development across medicine, nursing, dentistry and allied health. We are open to collaboration and strengthened by partnerships with our clinical colleagues in Dubai Health and beyond.
At the Health Professions Education Department we work with educators across Dubai Health to raise the quality of teaching, assessment, and learning. We support clinical and academic faculty from those starting out to experienced leaders, helping them grow as teachers, mentors, and scholars.
We advance health professions education through an integrated approach that combines educator development, educational innovation, and research. Our evidence-based programs and internationally recognized qualifications build teaching excellence across all levels of the academic health system.
We offer a progressive pathway in educator development, which is evidence-based and aligned to international standards. Certificate programs and short courses support frontline clinicians with practical skills in teaching and learning. Our academic programs—the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Professions Education (PGDipHPE) and Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MScHPE)—are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education and recognized by the UK’s Academy of Medical Educators.
We approach educational innovation as a scholarly, purpose-driven practice. Our work spans technology-enhanced learning, simulation, artificial intelligence in education, and assessment reform. Each initiative is designed to enhance learning, promote equity, and align with real-world clinical needs. We prioritize meaningful integration over novelty, ensuring innovations are globally informed and locally relevant.
We advance health professions education through collaborative, interdisciplinary research and the development of contextually relevant educational practices. Our work explores how health professionals learn, teach, assess, and grow across undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education.
