The Healthcare Simulation Department is a leading center for education, training, and professional development within our institution. We deliver simulation-based training across the continuum of healthcare education and practice. Our programs span medicine, nursing, midwifery, dentistry, and allied health, supporting learners from early studies through residency, internship, and professional advancement. Interprofessional education is at the core of our approach, bringing diverse healthcare teams together to strengthen collaboration and patient-centered care. In addition, we offer internationally recognized certification courses such as life support and emergency care programs that strengthen critical skills and preparedness. By combining academic training, professional development, and certification, we ensure healthcare providers gain the competence, confidence, and teamwork essential for safe, effective patient care.
We provide structured simulation training across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional levels in medicine, nursing, midwifery, dentistry, and allied health. Our interprofessional approach fosters collaboration, communication, and shared decision-making- equipping healthcare teams with the skills and confidence required for safe, effective clinical practice.
Our department serves as an American Heart Association International Training Center offering a comprehensive suite of certifications: BLS, ACLS, ACLS EP, PALS, NRP, ASLS, PEARS, ATLS, ATCN, ALSO, PHTLS, and Heartsaver® courses, along with instructor-level certifications for qualified professionals.
We support educators through our three-day Simulation Instructor Course and a series of advanced faculty workshops covering debriefing, simulation technology, working with simulated patients, and clinical debriefing—building the capacity of educators to deliver high-quality, evidence-based simulation experiences.
The Healthcare Simulation Department operates across multiple locations: Khalaf Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center located in Building 14, Dubai Healthcare City, a dedicated AHA ITC, and the Dubai Health Simulation Center. Both are equipped with state-of-the-art simulators, task trainers, and specialized resources that support a wide range of educational and clinical training needs. Our simulation environments are enhanced by advanced audiovisual systems and tech-assisted debriefing tools, enabling the highest standards of simulation-based education and reflective learning.
