About the Program
The Clinical Attachment is a clinical training program offered by Dubai Health.
The training consists of observation or hands-on experiences, with opportunities for clinical rotations at Dubai Health facilities, supported by evaluation from expert supervisors. Clinical Attachés will be equipped with the knowledge and fulfill their clinical experience gap. Upon successful completion of the program, the Attaché will receive a Certificate of Training Completion from Dubai Health.
Eligibility: UAE nationals, residents, and visitors who are: individual healthcare providers, doctors with a practice gap, and university students.
Duration: The minimum period of attachment requested is 2 weeks (10 working days), and the maximum is 12 weeks (60 working days) in each application. You may submit more than one application if you require a longer training period.
Placement is subject to the availability of training slots, depending on the facility’s capacity.

Thank you for considering the Dubai Health Clinical Attachment program. As the Director of Clinical Attachment, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Clinical Attachment program offered by Dubai Health.
The Clinical Attachment provides an opportunity for all healthcare and non-healthcare professionals interested in exploring and identifying healthcare systems in the Emirate of Dubai. Join us for a Clinical Attachment to observe or practice hands-on clinical training at Dubai Health facilities, in line with international standards for patient safety, security, and confidentiality.
Overview
- All clinical attachment requests are subject to pre-placement review and the applicant will not be able to commence until the review has been completed.
- All Attaché must submit the Official Health Clearance Certificate at or before the time of commencement. You will not be permitted to be in contact with patients without such evidence.
Observership Attachment
Below are the required documents at the time of application submission
- Updated CV
- Passport copy
- Emirates ID
- Visa copy: illustrates that the applicant has permission to stay in the UAE for the duration of the clinical attachment.
- Good Standing Certificate:
- Students are required to provide an updated letter “To Whom It May Concern” from their university confirming good conduct.
- Other applicants are required to provide an updated “Police Clearance Certificate” from the relevant Ministry of Interior Agency /Police Department/Equivalent.
- For MBRU research applicants, please provide:
- 2 reference letters
- Transcript
- Attained within the last 2 years, an IELTS Academic overall score of 6 or a TOEFL iBT minimum of 80, or evidence of study in an English curriculum from the university.
After receiving the approval
- Health Clearance Certificate will be required.
Hands-on Attachment
Below are the required documents at the time of application submission
- Updated CV
- Passport copy
- Emirates ID
- Visa copy: illustrates that the applicant has permission to stay in the UAE for the duration of the clinical attachment.
- Good Standing Certificate:
- Graduates and postgraduates are required to provide an updated letter “To Whom It May Concern” from their university confirming good conduct.
- Other applicants are required to provide an updated “Police Clearance Certificate” from the relevant Ministry of Interior Agency /Police Department/Equivalent.
- For Dental applicants, a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate is required.
- Attained within the last 2 years, an IELTS Academic overall score of 6 or a TOEFL iBT minimum of 80, or evidence of study in an English curriculum from the university.
After receiving the approval
- Please contact the DHA to apply for the Trainee License through Sheryan Portal.
- Once License approved, please login to the Clinical Attachment profile and upload the Trainee License Registration Certificate and Malpractice Insurance to request for Trainee License Activation.
- Health Clearance Certificate will be required.
- Valid Trainee License from Dubai Health Authority (DHA)

Dubai Health Employee Attachment
For Dubai Health Employees:
- Provide a no-objection letter from the line manager via email
- Once verified, access will be enabled for your Dubai Health email
- Submit the online application using the Dubai Health email
- For the required documents, please refer to the Observership or Hands-on attachment.
Health Clearance Certificate
Trainee spends a period of time in a monitored and observed environment to gain knowledge through observation of clinical care provided at Dubai Health facilities.
Applicants are required to provide the Health Clearance Certificate that includes:
- Hepatitis B (Antigen)
- Measles & Rubella (IGG)
- Vericella Zoster Virus (IGG Antibody)
- HIV (Antigen/Antibody)
- Hepatitis C (Antibody)
- Hepatitis B
- TB (X-ray/IGRA test)
- Syphilis (VDRL)
Mandatory Vaccinations:
- Hepatitis B
- Vericella
- MMR
Note:
Please note that the Health Clearance Certificate may be obtained from any licensed laboratory, clinic, or hospital. However, it must be issued on the institution’s official letterhead or bear its official stamp, and the document must be in English.
Kindly be reminded that the Health Clearance is a mandatory requirement. If any of the listed tests are missing, we will not be able to issue your Clinical Attachment ID card.
