Dr. Angela Polanía González is a Lecturer in the Department of Orthodontics at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), Dubai, where she contributes to postgraduate education, clinical supervision, curriculum development, and research. She is a Specialist Orthodontist licensed by both the Dubai Health Authority and the Ministry of Health in Colombia, with over 15 years of combined academic and clinical experience across Colombia and the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Polanía obtained her Specialist degree in Orthodontics and Doctor of Dental Surgery from Universidad del Valle, Colombia, and is currently a Doctorate in Dental Science Candidate at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, focusing on the genetic bases of malocclusion. She holds the Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MOrth RCSEd) and has completed advanced training in skeletal anchorage, clinical research methods, craniofacial asymmetries, biomechanics, and digital orthodontics.
At MBRU, she teaches in the Master of Orthodontics program and actively supervises resident theses in areas including artificial intelligence, biomaterials, biomechanics, and craniofacial diagnostics. Her research portfolio includes funded projects on temporomandibular joint parameters and ongoing faculty-led studies on artificial intelligence applications in orthodontics and jaw tracking technologies. Dr. Polanía has published in peer-reviewed international journals and presented her work at major scientific meetings, including the European Orthodontic Congress.
