Dr. Mohamed Jamal was appointed as the Dean of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine in 2025. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Ajman University in 2005. Following a one-year internship at the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Jamal joined the Boston University Institute for Dental Research and Education – Dubai (BUIDRE), where he completed his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) and Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) in Endodontics in 2011.

During his residency at BUIDRE, he was awarded a research grant from the Emirates Foundation to support his pioneering work on dental pulp stem cells. While completing his program, Dr. Jamal also practiced endodontics in several clinics across Dubai.

In 2012, Dr. Jamal pursued his Doctor of Science in Dentistry (DScD) in Endodontics at the Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Boston University, where he joined the Center for Regenerative Medicine. His research focused on human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells, developing protocols for their differentiation into various lineages, including endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, neural crest cells, and dental pulp cells.

Dr. Jamal’s contributions to dental research have earned him multiple prestigious awards, including the Young Emirati Research Award, the 2016 Best Research Award at Boston University, the American Association of Endodontists Research Award (2016), and the Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence (2019). He currently serves as Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Emirates Endodontic Society and as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics.
