Overview

The Dubai Health Professions Education Conference (DHPEC) is Dubai Health’s annual forum for advancing education across the full spectrum of health professions. Bringing together educators, researchers, students, and health system leaders from medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, allied health, and public health, DHPEC provides a dedicated space for the exchange of evidence, practice, and ideas that shape the future of health professions education.

DHPEC 2026 offers a rigorous scientific program alongside structured opportunities for collaboration that extend well beyond the conference itself. Every strand of the program, from scientific review to governance to the Research Incubator, is structured to ensure that all health professions are represented.

DHPEC is an evolution of Dubai Health’s longstanding Medical Education Conference.

DHPEC 2026 is accompanied by a series of focused pre- and post-conference programs, including the AI in Education Symposium and Research Incubator.

FAQ's

What is DHPEC?

The Dubai Health Professions Education Conference (DHPEC) builds on six years of MBRU’s annual Medical Education Conference, expanding into a fully interprofessional event that brings together educators from medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, allied health, and public health to advance research, build networks, and shape the future of health workforce education.

Who should attend?

DHPEC is for anyone working in health professions education: faculty, clinical educators, researchers, curriculum developers, simulation specialists, students, and health system leaders. If you are involved in training health professionals, this conference is designed for you. Participants from all countries are welcome.

What are the conference dates and location?

DHPEC 2026 main conference dates are October 23–24, 2026. Pre-conference activities run October 19–22. Post-conference sessions, including the AI in Education Symposium, are scheduled for October 25. The conference will take place across Dubai Health facilities in Dubai, UAE, and mainly at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

How do I register?

Registration will be opening soon.

Are there student rates or funding support?

Yes. Subsidized student registration rates are available. A limited number of fee waivers are available for students and early-career educators whose abstracts are accepted. Details of the application process will be published alongside abstract acceptance notifications. Delegates will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation.

How do I submit an abstract?

Abstract submissions are managed through Microsoft CMT (Conference Management Toolkit). We accept submissions for oral presentations, workshops, posters, and ePresentations. All health professions are welcome. First-time presenters are encouraged to apply.

How are abstracts reviewed?

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Each abstract is reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers with expertise in the relevant discipline. The Scientific Committee oversees the process and makes final selection decisions. Selection criteria include research quality, relevance to conference themes, and representation across health professions and regions.

What is the Research Incubator?

The Research Incubator is DHPEC’s signature programme for collaborative research development. Participants are matched into cross-institutional, interprofessional teams and participate in structured workshops during the conference to develop a joint research proposal. Selected teams receive seed support.

Are CPD/CME credits available?

Yes. Details of CPD accreditation and credit hours will be confirmed on the website closer to the conference. Certificates of attendance will be issued to all registered delegates who complete the post-conference evaluation.
