Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences

Yes, we will consider a new application as if it was the first.

Does the University provide accommodation?

MBRU does not provide direct accommodation to students. However, we have negotiated on behalf of the students with several private providers. Complete information can be found here

Why study Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at MBRU?

At the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) we aspire to become a leading research-focused medical academic institution and to create an innovative and enriching research environment that will support the advancement of healthcare in the UAE and globally. Students will benefit from the wealth of research expertise of MBRU’s international faculty and carry out research focusing on addressing national health challenges in areas of high disease burden for the UAE and globally. Research projects are currently underway at MBRU in the areas of: i) Cardiometabolic diseases (including Diabetes Mellitus), ii) Cancer, iii) Mental Health and Wellbeing, iv) Neurodevelopmental disorders, and v) Respiratory and infectious diseases. Graduates of our master program will be able to acquire research skills that are attractive to employers in universities and industries and will have better opportunities to secure PhD positions.

How long is the duration of the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program?

The duration of the program is two years.

How can I apply to the master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program?

Application to the Master programs can only be submitted through our online application portal. Application to the program will open on October 15, 2020 and will close on May 6, 2021. Late applications received after the deadline may be considered.

For your application to be complete, you will need to submit the online application, upload all supporting documents, and pay the non-refundable application fee of AED. 1,050 – including VAT.

What documents do I need to upload as part of my master of science in Biomedical Sciences application?

As part of your application, you will need to upload clear color copies of your personal and academic documents in a PDF format. A list of the required documents is available here.

What happens after I submit my Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences application?

Please note that for your application to be considered, you have to complete the online application, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee.  An experienced panel of MBRU faculty and staff will then review completed applications and will shortlist qualified candidates. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews. Selection will be based on the applicant’s academic and professional credentials as well as performance in the interview. Selected applicants will be sent conditional offers to the email address provided in the application.

What does the Admissions Committee evaluate in Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences when making the admission decisions?

Undergraduate studies performance, letters of recommendation, previous academic and / or professional experience are the main criteria for evaluation

How much is the tuition fees for the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences?

The annual tuition fee for the program is AED 117,300. The tuition fee is payable in two installments (by the beginning of each semester) either by cheque or bank transfer.
