Basic Implant Surgical and Restorative Techniques

This course will deliver the evidence-based knowledge in the form of lectures and seminars to provide the prosthodontic, oral surgery and periodontal postgraduate students with the necessary information to formulate treatment plans at an introductory level for implant retained fixed or removable prosthesis.

By the end of this course, the residents should be able to assess the patient clinically, learn the necessary surgical skills for placing dental implants safely, deal with basic soft tissue management, and restore the osseointegrated implant with fixed and removable final restoration.

The course includes the following topics: Anatomy related to dental implants, bone biology and osseointegration, different implant systems, radiographic assessment including CBCT, risk factors affecting dental implants and long-term maintenance of dental implants.
