This course will be conducted as lecture and tutorial sessions using SPSS to empower students to be able to read literature and articles in medical or biological journals. This course will help students to conduct their own research projects and improve their skills of understanding statistical jargon in the field of medical and health literature. The teaching methodology will be practical sessions and practical exercises acquaint the candidates with the basic concepts of biostatistics and their applications and interpretation. The computer will be used throughout the course. A challenge/mock exam will be conducted before the start of the course to evaluate the student’s knowledge and skills covering various aspects of Biostatistics and according to the student’s performance, the course would be adjusted/tailored to fill the gaps in the introductory lectures through remedial exercises.
