This course will provide the student with an in-depth knowledge of the key conditions that may complicate the delivery of oral healthcare and their oral/dental management.  The student will learn the principles of diagnosis, treatment planning and providing safe and effective treatment for these patients.  The student will also be introduced to ways of effective communication with other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of these patients.  The students will get the chance to spend 2 weeks in the pediatric floor or the pediatric emergency room of Al Jalila Children’s’ Hospital to get some practical review of the concepts presented in this course.  The residents will also get simulation training at Khalaf Al Habtoor Simulation Center on management of common pediatric emergencies.
